2 Corinthians 1-3

So Our Consolation Also Abounds Through Christ

2 Corinthians 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.

There is in this life much suffering. For suffering is necessary for the refinement of our souls. Through suffering we learn compassion for others, we learn to rely on God rather than ourselves, we learn to rely on God's grace rather than worldly wisdom. Suffering exposes whether or not we possess integrity, faith and faithfulness. Suffering is a crucial step in the transformation of our soul into the image of Yeshua our Lord. So, I thank God for suffering because through suffering we become more and more like Him. Let us therefore stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set His seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. Thank You Father, for the wonderful hope we have in a glorious life to come! It is because of this hope that we are able to endure the suffering of this life. What we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory which will one day be revealed in us! (Romans 8:18) Hallelujah!
