1 Corinthians 15-16

It is Sown in Dishonor, it is Raised in Glory

1 Corinthians 15:40-44 There are also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies; but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory. So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption. It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

As wonderfully designed as our bodies are, they are only temporary. From dust we were made and to dust we will return. But we have hope because Christ has risen from the dead and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep; the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. (Romans 8:29) As in Adam all die, but in Christ all shall be made alive. Our bodies that were sown in corruption, will be raised in incorruption; sown in weakness, raised in power; sown a natural body, raised a spiritual body. For first comes the natural, and afterward the spiritual. God speed the day when the final trumpet sounds and the dead are raised incorruptible! We shall be changed from mortal to immortal, and death will be swallowed up in victory. Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! How glorious that day will be when our hope is finally realized. Maranatha! Our Lord, come!
