Leviticus 21-24

Emor - Say

(Day 21 of the Omer)
Leviticus 21:1-3 And the Lord said to Moses, “Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them: ‘None shall defile himself for the dead among his people, except for his relatives who are nearest to him: his mother, his father, his son, his daughter, and his brother; also his virgin sister who is near to him, who has had no husband, for her he may defile himself. Otherwise he shall not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself.'"

Blessed be Your holy name, O Yehovah. May we be careful not to profane it. You brought us out from the bondage to sin to be our God and we Your people. You are the LORD who leads us and sanctifies us. You have shown us the way of righteousness and how You want us to worship You. Your name is to be hallowed among Your people, therefore may we keep Your commandments and perform them. May we walk in Your ways and keep Your feasts. May we be holy as You are holy. Praise the name of Yehovah! Blessed be the name of Yehovah from this time forth and forevermore! From the rising of the sun to its going down the LORD's name is to be praised. (Psalm 113:1-3)

Psalms 69-72

Let the Whole Earth Be Filled With His Glory

(Day 20 of the Omer)
Psalm 72:18-19 Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, Who only does wondrous things! And blessed be His glorious name forever! And let the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen and Amen.

O God, You know my foolishness; and my sins are not hidden from You. Save me, O God! For the waters have come up to my neck. I sink in deep mire where there is no standing; I have come into deep waters where the floods overflow me. O LORD, in the acceptable time; O God, in the multitude of Your mercy, hear me in the truth of Your salvation. Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink; let me be delivered from those who hate me, and out of the deep waters. Let not the floodwater overflow me, nor let the deep swallow me up. Hear me, O LORD, for Your lovingkindness is good; turn to me according to the multitude of Your tender mercies. Let Your salvation, O God, set me up on high. And I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify Him with thanksgiving. Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; and let those who love Your salvation say continually, "Let God be magnified!"

Psalms 66-68

How Awesome Are Your Works!

(Day 19 of the Omer)
Psalm 66:1-4 Make a joyful shout to God, all the earth! Sing out the honor of His name; make His praise glorious. Say to God, “How awesome are Your works! Through the greatness of Your power Your enemies shall submit themselves to You. All the earth shall worship You and sing praises to You; they shall sing praises to Your name.” Selah

God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause Your face to shine upon us, that Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations. Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You. Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy! For You shall judge the people righteously, and govern the nations on earth. Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You. Then the earth shall yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us, and all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.

Psalms 62-65

In God is My Salvation and My Glory

(Day 18 of the Omer)
Psalm 62:5-8 My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.

O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. O You who hear prayer, to You all flesh will come. Iniquities prevail against me; as for our transgressions, You will provide atonement for them. Blessed are the ones whom You choose and cause to approach You, that they may dwell in Your courts. We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, of Your holy temple. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary to see Your power and Your glory. Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You. Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. My mouth shall praise You with joyful lips. Because You have been my help, therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice. By awesome deeds in righteousness You will answer us, O God of our salvation, You who are the confidence of all the ends of the earth!

Psalms 58-61

I Will Trust in the Shelter of Your Wings

(Day 17 of the Omer)
Psalm 61:1-4 Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah

O God, You have broken us down; You have been displeased; Oh, restore us again! You have shown Your people hard things; You have made us drink the wine of confusion. Give us help from trouble, for the help of man is useless. Through God we will do valiantly, for it is He who shall tread down our enemies. Let the wicked be taken in their pride; consume them in wrath that they may not be. Let them know that God rules in Jacob to the ends of the earth. I will wait for You, O LORD, for You are my defense. You are my refuge in the day of my trouble. I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. And I will sing of Your power; yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning. To You, O my Strength, I will sing praises; For God is my defense, my God of mercy.

Psalms 54-57

Be Exalted, O God

(Day 16 of the Omer)
Psalms 57:9-11 I will praise You, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing to You among the nations. For Your mercy reaches unto the heavens, and Your truth unto the clouds. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let Your glory be above all the earth.

Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in You; and in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge. I will call upon God Most High and You shall save me. Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, and You shall hear my voice. You shall send from heaven and save me; You shall send forth mercy and truth. When I cry out to You, then my enemies will turn back; this I know, because You are for me. In You I have put my trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? You have redeemed my soul in peace from the battle that was against me.  I will render praises to You, for You have delivered my soul from death. Have You not kept my feet from falling that I may walk before God in the light of the living?  My heart, O God, is steadfast; I will sing and make music. Awake, my soul! Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. I will praise You, Lord, among the nations. For great is Your love, reaching to the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let Your glory be above all the earth!

Psalms 50-53

God Will Shine Forth

(Day 15 of the Omer)
Psalm 50:1-2 The Mighty One, God the LORD, has spoken and called the earth from the rising of the sun to its going down. Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God will shine forth.

My transgressions have not only hurt others, but they have dishonored Your name. Against You, I have sinned. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness. You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit and a contrite heart--these O God, You will not despise. O my Father, I pray that You will wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.  Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Please never cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit.
