1 Corinthians 12-14

The Manifestation of the Spirit Is Given to Each One for the Profit of All  

1 Corinthians 12:4-10 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

Prayer:

Just like the human body is one body with many members, so is the body of Christ. Each member of the human body has a unique function, (the eye sees, the ear hears, the nose smells, the hand holds, the foot walks, etc.) but all members work in concert with each other. The members of the human body assist one another according to God's design for wholeness. And if one member suffers, the whole body suffers. God likewise sets each individual person in the body of Christ as He pleases to work together as one.The LORD has appointed apostles, prophets, teachers, workers of miracles, healers, helpers, administrators, etc to benefit the body. Every member does a different job and each is an integral part of the body's functionality. If there are schisms, envies, competition, and such things as this, somehow we have failed to function in our purpose for the benefit of all. Dear Father, may Your Spirit be clearly manifested in each of us that our contributions to the body of Christ may edify and bless. May joy and peace and love be the defining characteristics of our congregations that we might function beautifully together and bring glory to You.
