Prepared For Those Who Love Him
The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent." The Jews request a sign, the Greeks seek wisdom, but it is not through the wisdom of men that one can know God. Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? And is not the foolishness of God wiser than men, and the weakness of God stronger than men? Christ crucified is the wisdom of God, but to the Jews a stumbling block, and to the Greeks foolishness; but to those who are called (both Jews and Greeks) Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. Thank You Father, for calling us into the body of Christ. You have chosen the foolish things of this world to confound the mighty. You have chosen the things which are not to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in Your presence. Blessed are we who are in Christ Jesus. He became for us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification and redemption. Let us not glory in men, or in our own strength, but let we who glory, glory only in You, O Yehovah, our God!
