Mark 11-13

Blessed is He Who Comes in the Name of the LORD

Mark 11:7-10 Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their clothes on it, and He sat on it. And many spread their clothes on the road, and others cut down leafy branches from the trees and spread them on the road. Then those who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD! Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”

There was great excitement in Jerusalem! Because Yeshua had fulfilled many prophesies about the Messiah, people believed that that He was going to soon establish His throne. So, as He rode into Jerusalem upon a colt (fulfilling yet another prophecy) they cheered, they hailed Him and they praised God. But, Yeshua did not do as they expected. For many more prophecies had yet to be fulfilled before the Messiah would take His rightful place upon the throne of God. Yeshua, (the precious stone in Jerusalem) must first be rejected by the builders... after which He would become the chief cornerstone. The temple must be completely destroyed; not one stone would be left upon another. There must be wars and earthquakes and famines and troubles. These, Yeshua said, were just the beginnings of sorrows. Many more years would pass until the coming of a time of great tribulation just before the return of the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. Then He would send His angels, and gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of earth to the farthest part of heaven. So let us, who await His return, take heed and watch and pray; for maybe the time is now. Maybe, very soon, Yeshua will come and He will sit upon His throne in glory. Maybe soon we shall witness every knee bowing before Him. And maybe soon, we will all be proclaiming, "Hosanna in the Highest! Blessed is He who comes in the name of Yehovah!"
