Whoever Does Not Bear His Cross and Come After Me Cannot be My Disciple
Someone sitting with Yeshua at the table said, "Blessed is he who shall eat dinner in the kingdom of God!" Then Yeshua told a parable about a man giving a great supper, inviting many. But they all with one accord began to make excuses. They all spoke of more important things that needed their attention and said they wouldn't be able to make it. This angered the man and he sent his servant to go quickly into the streets and lanes of the city and invite the poor and the crippled and the lame and the blind that his house would be filled. None of those first to be invited would taste his supper. Dear Father, let us not be so foolish to turn down the invitation to Your supper because we think we have better things to do. Rather let us forsake all in this life for the awesome opportunity to eat dinner in Your kingdom. Let us humble ourselves that we may be exalted. And let us readily accept Your invitation and dress appropriately in wedding clothes, that we may be called and chosen to partake of the marriage supper. (Matthew 22:11-14) "Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and exult and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready." And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!" Revelation 19:6-9) Blessed are we who accept the invitation.
