Matthew 23-25

Come, You Blessed of My Father, Inherit the Kingdom Prepared for You

Matthew 25:31-34 When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, “Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”

Yeshua told the scribes and Pharisees that they shut up the kingdom of heaven against men, for they neither go in themselves, nor do they allow those who are entering to go in.  He said that they travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, they make him twice as much a son of hell as themselves. Why did he say this to them? Because they were hypocrites. They did good works and gave long prayers so that the people would see and admire them. They loved the best places at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces. All the while they placed heavy burdens on the people and devoured the meager substance of widows. Our Father, help each of us to examine our own hearts. May we not be guilty of hypocrisy, but may our prayers be sincere and earnest, and as sweet incense before You (Psalm 141:2) and may our works be done to benefit others, and not the self. May we be profitable servants, bearing much fruit; and may we always be ready and waiting so that when our Lord returns, He will welcome us saying, "Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world."
