When the Son of Man Sits on the Throne of His Glory
Matthew
19:28-30 So Jesus said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the
regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you
who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve
tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or
sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s
sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. But many
who are first will be last, and the last first.”
Yeshua's life on earth was rather brief, only thirty years or so. But during this time He set for us wonderful examples of service and self-sacrifice that we should follow. How well do we follow His examples? The Apostle Peter wrote that Christ suffered for us in the flesh and that we should arm ourselves with the same mind. He said that instead of seeking always to satisfy the lusts of the flesh, we should live according to God in the spirit. He said that to the extent we partake of Christ's sufferings, when His glory is revealed, we will also be glad with exceeding joy. (1 Peter 4:12-16) Our Father, I pray that I would be willing to give up the temporary trappings of today for the glory You have in store for us tomorrow. And I pray that I would, as Yeshua did, live a life of service and self-sacrifice, thus bringing honor and glory to Your Most Holy Name, now and forevermore. Amen
