What God is Great Like Our God?
It seems inconceivable that Israel would have forgotten the awesome miracles and great works of the LORD who freed them from the bonds of slavery and brought them out of Egypt. They complained often that they didn't have enough food or water - and they accused God of bringing them out into the desert to kill them. They didn’t believe His promise to bring them into their own land and to provide for them along the way. The writer of the book of Hebrews warns us not to be like them. Just as the Holy Spirit said, “Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as when they provoked Me, as in the day of trial in the wilderness, where your fathers tried Me by testing Me, and saw My works for forty years. Therefore, I was angry with this generation, and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart, and they did not know My ways’; as I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest’” (Hebrews 3:1-11). Dear Father, thank You for Your awesome work in our lives! Thank You for redeeming us and placing us on the path of righteousness for Your name's sake. Thank You for calling us to be Your children. May we trust You and believe in Your promises. May we praise You rather than complain against You. May we enter Your rest and dwell with You forever!
