Psalms 28-32

How Great is Your Goodness
David loved God deeply and passionately. Yet, he struggled as all people do, with temptation and weakness. He messed up on several occasions and sinned big!  However, David believed in God’s goodness and grace. He believed that no matter how big the sin, God would forgive. In Psalms 32, David expressed that belief: “How blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven; whose sins are covered! How blessed are they to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit, there is no deceit!”  David encourages us to confess our sins to God in a time when He may be found. For when we keep silent regarding our sin, the Lord’s hand is heavy upon us day and night. Yet, when we confess, He forgives the guilt of our sin.  Dear Father, thank You for David’s wonderful example of confessional prayer. May we also share his confidence that when we confess, You forgive the guilt of our sin – even when we sin big. Thank You for Your patience, Your mercy and Your faithfulness. Thank You for being our loving Father. You surround us with songs of deliverance. How great is Your goodness! How amazing is Your love!
