They
are Righteous Altogether
Psalm 22:1 – “My God, my God, why
have You forsaken me?” Just before Jesus died on the cross, He quoted this verse
(Matthew 27:45-46). Psalms 22 was written about a thousand years before Jesus
was born. It depicts the death of Jesus by crucifixion. It prophesies that His
clothing would be divided by the casting of a lot. It portrays His suffering. It
was the Psalm that came to His mind during the final moments of His physical life.
His thoughts were on completing His mission… a mission that changed everything
for us; a mission that changed our destiny from destruction and death, to life
everlasting. His death freed us from the bondage of sin. His death has become
our salvation. His life has become our hope. And He has become our King!
“All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and all
the families of the nations will worship before You. For the kingdom is the
Lord’s and He rules over the nations… They will come and will declare His
righteousness to a people who will be born, that He has performed it” (Psalms
22:27-31). Dear Father, thank You for
Your Son. How blessed we are that He completed His mission on earth. He freed us from death and sin by His own blood. And He sanctifies us
for salvation through His resurrection and life! How amazing is our hope – for life
everlasting with You and Your Son! How amazing is Your love!
