Luke 14-15

And They Began to Celebrate
One Sabbath, Jesus was dining with some Pharisees at the home one of their leaders. While they were eating, Jesus told them parables and instructed them in ways of righteousness and godliness. He told them that when they give a dinner, they should invite people who can’t repay them: the crippled, the lame, the blind - and they would be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous. When one of the guests heard this he said, “Blessed is everyone who will eat bread in the kingdom of God.”  In response, Jesus told them a parable about a man who was giving a big dinner party. But many whom he had invited made excuses for not being able to attend. So, the man sent his servants out to invite other guests. The man invited enough guests to fill his house.  Those that he had initially invited gave up wonderful dinner. They would never again have such an opportunity. Dear Father, may we be eager to accept the invitation to Your dinner. May it never be that we would miss this amazing opportunity because we think we have better things to do! Nothing is better than eating bread with You in the kingdom. Nothing! Let us not be deceived. May nothing in our lives be more important than You!
