The Glorious Things Being Done by Him

After Jesus taught His disciples how to pray, He exhorted them to be persistent and He told them to ask the Father for the Holy Spirit. “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children,” He told His disciples, “how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?” It was by the power of the Holy Spirit that Jesus performed countless miracles and did glorious things. Even so, His opponents refused to credit the miracles to the power of God. Rather, they accused Jesus of casting out demons by power of the ruler of demons. Jesus warned them that speaking against the Holy Spirit was a dangerous thing to do. He said that everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man would be forgiven. But he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. Dear Father, please fill us with Your Holy Spirit. May it teach us and guide us and cleanse us and strengthen us. May we daily walk by Your Spirit and may the fruit of Your Spirit be manifested in us; the good fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. O dear Father, may we bring glory to Your wonderful name because Your Spirit dwells in us!
