The Good Shepherd
Jesus said that He was the door of the sheep. If anyone enters through Him, they will be saved. He said that He was the good shepherd. “The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep” He said. Those who are only a hired hand will not protect the sheep. If a wolf threatens the flock, the hired hand will run away. And the wolf snatches the sheep and scatters them. Jesus though, is the good Shepherd. He knows His own and His own knows Him. Even as the Father knows Jesus and Jesus knows the Father. The Father loves Jesus because He lays down His life for the sheep. Jesus said, “I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear My voice; and they will become one flock with one shepherd.” Dear Father, thank You for Your Son, our Shepherd! Protect us from hired hands who do not care about us. Keep us in the care of Your Son, Who loves us and Who protects us with His own life. May we know His voice. May we listen to His voice. May we follow His voice. And may we come to You, only through Him so that we may be saved. How I look forward to the day when the sheep are gathered together, as one flock – in the care of our Lord and Savior Jesus, our one true Shepherd forevermore!
