The Light of the World
Jesus
said, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness
but will have the Light of life.” Jesus taught that if His followers continue
in His word than they will know the truth and the truth will make them free. He
said, “Everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin… So, if the Son makes you
free, you will be free indeed.” Jesus sets us free from sin so that we may obey
His words. For “if anyone keeps My word,” Jesus stated, “he will never see
death.” Do we believe this? Many who heard Jesus speak did not believe Him. They
accused Jesus of having a demon. Jesus
retorted that they cannot believe His words because they are of their father
the devil and want to do the desires of their father. “He who is of God hears
the words of God; for this reason, you do not hear them, because you are not of
God.” Dear Father, thank You for Your Son! He makes us
free! May we walk in the truth of Jesus. May we obey and continue always in His
word. May we have the Light of life reflecting in our own lives so that we may
be a light to the world. And may we never see death but live in the Light forever
and ever with You and Your Son.
