The Son of Man
“No
one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man”,
Jesus told His listeners. “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness,
even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; so that whoever believes will in Him
have eternal life”. Jesus was the Word in the beginning. He became flesh (the
Son of Man) to willingly suffer death on the cross to pay the penalty for our
sins, that we who believe may receive eternal life! Not everyone, however, wants
what Jesus has to offer because Jesus is Light, and many men love darkness rather
than light, for their deeds are evil. Jesus said that this is judgment. “Everyone
who does evil hates the Light and does not come to the Light for fear that his
deeds will be exposed. But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so
that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God”. Dear Father, though
I don’t fully comprehend how the Word in the beginning became flesh and dwelt
among us – I do believe it happened. I believe that Your Son Is the Light come
into the world. I desperately want what Jesus has to offer. May those who
believe, practice truth and may our deeds be manifested as having been “wrought in
God”. Thank You for Your sacrificial love! Thank You for the Light. May we walk
in it and live in it forevermore with You.
