Apply
Your Heart to Discipline
This chapter addresses the indulgences
of the undisciplined such as overeating, overdrinking, laziness, and sexual
impurity. Teaching a child to apply their heart to discipline becomes one of
their greatest assets in 1) protecting them from destructive behavior, and 2)
promoting success with constructive behavior. My habitual behavior was learned
when I was very small – some good and some not so good. What a blessing it is
for a child to learn good behavior through self-discipline! This is a gift that
will last throughout their lives. Dear Father, thank You for the words of wisdom
that You have given us to share with our children so that we may teach them traits
that will bless throughout their lives. And Thank You for being our loving
parent who has not only given us Your precious Word with instructions for life,
but by Your Spirit teaches us lessons each day, and works with us and disciplines
us so that we may be transformed into Your own image. Thank You for being our
loving Father and never giving up on us.
