Bo - Go
After experiencing horrendous plagues and disasters, Pharaoh finally let the people of God go. Egypt did not give up their slaves easily. In fact, Egypt had to suffer much trauma and personal hurt before they admitted defeat to the all-powerful God of Israel. And the Hebrew slaves had to be covered by the blood of the lamb to be freed from Egypt and redeemed from death. The lamb (that first Passover) was just a type of another Lamb to come - the Lamb of God whose blood would redeem all of mankind from the power of sin and death. And those who have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb are to walk in righteousness (as pictured by the unleavened bread) and be guided by the Spirit of the LORD (as pictured by the cloud by day and pillar of fire by night) to the land of promise - never to return to the enslavement of sin. Dear Father, thank You for the blood of the Lamb that freed us from the power and enslavement of sin. Thank You for Your Son who gave His life as a sacrifice so that all who apply the covering of His blood are redeemed from death. And thank You for the life of Your Son that now lives in each one of us who have been redeemed. May the life we now live reflect Your Son, who is leading us to glory as He shepherds each one of us on the path of righteousness for Your name’s sake.
