The LORD Is Merciful and Gracious
(Day 31 of the Omer)
Psalm
103:6-12 The Lord executes righteousness and justice for all who are
oppressed. He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of
Israel. The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding
in mercy. He will not always strive with us, nor will He keep His anger
forever. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us
according to our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the
earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; as far as the
east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.
Bless the LORD, O my soul! O Yehovah my God, You are very great: You are clothed with honor and majesty, who cover Yourself with light as with a garment, who stretch out the heavens like a curtain, who laid the foundations of the earth. O LORD, how manifold are Your works! The earth is full of Your possessions-- the great and wide sea teeming with living things both small and great, the beasts of the field and birds of heaven. The whole earth is satisfied with the fruit of Your works. All of creation wait upon You for food in due season, for drink and shelter. You open Your hand and they are filled with good. You hide Your face and they are troubled; You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust. You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; and You renew the face of the earth. May the glory of the LORD endure forever; may the LORD rejoice in His works. I will sing to the LORD as long as I live! May my meditation be sweet to Him; I will be glad in the LORD. May sinners be consumed from the earth and the wicked be no more. Bless Yehovah, O my Soul! Praise Yehovah!
