He Who Does the Will of My Father in Heaven
Yeshua said that those who wanted to be His followers must be willing to walk the difficult road. The difficult road is the way that demands not only obedience to the law, but purity of heart. For instance, where the law says we must not kill, purity of heart demands that we must not even hate. Rather, we must love everyone, our enemies included, praying for those who spitefully use and persecute us. "Enter by the narrow gate;" Yeshua said, "for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. But narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." Have mercy on us, O God, according to Your lovingkindness. According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, blot out our transgressions. Wash us thoroughly from iniquity, and cleanse us from our sin. (Psalm 51:1-2) Create in us a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within us. (Psalm 51:10) Yeshua said that the pure in heart are blessed for they shall see God. (Matthew 5:8) This is my prayer: that my love may abound more and more in knowledge and in depth of insight, so that I may be able to discern what is best, and be pure and blameless for the day of Messiah. (Philippians 1:9-10) We are the children of God. And one day we shall see Him as He is, for we shall be like Him. May we all who have this hope in Him purify ourselves, just as He is pure. (1 John 3:2-3)
