B’midbar
– In the Desert
Every firstborn was condemned to die that fateful night in Egypt. Yet, the
firstborn in the dwellings of those who had applied the blood of the lamb on
the doorposts of their homes were spared. And thus, the Lord set apart for Himself
every firstborn in Israel. “They are to be mine. I am the Lord.” Similarly, all
humankind is under the penalty of death because all are under the curse of sin.
Yet, those who apply the blood of the Lamb on the portals of their hearts and
minds are spared. They are to be set apart for the Lord. They are His. How
blessed we are to be counted with those who have been redeemed by the blood of
the Lamb!
