His
Eyes Test the Sons of Man
In this reading, David speaks of wickedness
that struts about on every side. He writes that vileness is exalted among the
sons of men. This seems true today. Our culture seems to be heavily influenced
by the power of darkness. This power of
darkness is our greatest enemy. It is seductive. It is persuasive. It is deceptive.
It is deadly. I pray (as David prayed regarding his enemy) that it will not
exalt over me. I pray that it will not overcome me. Dear Father, You test the
righteous and the wicked. May we, who love righteousness, be covered by the
blood of Your Son. May His righteousness dwell in us. And may Your face behold us, because the
righteousness of Your Son has become our own. I trust in Your lovingkindness, O
Father. My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. I will sing to the Lord,
because He has dealt bountifully with me.
