Treasure
Up My Commandments Within You
Seduction comes in many forms, not just
alluring women or men. In fact, most of us have been enticed by the glamor and
appeal of marketing techniques. We, the unsuspecting consumer, are manipulated daily
by seductive and powerful methods into purchasing items we don’t need. And we,
like the young man in this chapter, can benefit from the words of warning and
exhortation to treasure the LORD’s commandments and write them in our hearts, to
embrace wisdom and understanding to keep us on the path of life. Dear Father, please safeguard us from seduction
in its various forms. We are so often naïve regarding its power of manipulation
and destructive effects. Protect us with wisdom and understanding. Help us to
invest in loving relationships with You and with family, friends and the people
in our circles. And guard us from succumbing to seduction, including that of
illicit relationships and purchasing product we don’t need. May we never stray
from the path that leads to life. And may we lay up our treasures in heaven
that will never pass away.
