The
Wall was Completed
The enemies knew that if they were
able to get rid of Nehemiah, the rebuilding of the wall would come to a screeching halt.
So they plotted and made many attempts to get Nehemiah out of the picture. But
God protected Nehemiah from every scheme of the enemy to dissuade, discredit
and frighten him. Despite all the conspiracies
and attacks against Nehemiah and the builders, the wall was completed. And finally,
the enemies of the wall project admitted defeat. They recognized that the work
had been accomplished because Nehemiah and the people received help from God. This scenario speaks also to a far greater work in process... the work of redemption. Like the wall project, this great work also has enemies who use whatever tactics are available to dissuade, discourage and frighten the believers. And if the enemy can discredit the sovereignty of the LORD and take Him out of the picture, the work would fail and the enemy would win. But this will not happen. Because the Lord promised that He will finish the work He began. People who seek and receive help from the LORD will one day see the final and absolute defeat of the enemy and the glorious work of redemption completed. Dear Father, be with the believers as You do a wonderful work of redemption in us. Guard us from the tactics of the enemy to discourage, distract and dissuade us. Help us to continually seek You with all our hearts, minds and souls. And praise Your name dear Father, because the work of redemption can only be accomplished with help from our God!
