Leviticus 25:1-26:2

Behar - On the Mountain

(Day 28th of the Omer)
Leviticus 25:1-4 And the Lord spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you come into the land which I give you, then the land shall keep a sabbath to the Lord. Six years you shall sow your field, and six years you shall prune your vineyard, and gather its fruit; but in the seventh year there shall be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sabbath to the Lord. You shall neither sow your field nor prune your vineyard.'"

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. (Hebrews 11:8-10) By faith, Moses led the children of Israel from Egypt, also to this same land. They were heirs also of the same promise. Yet, the land was not theirs to treat any way they saw fit. For the land belonged to Yehovah. It was not to be sold permanently, it was (is) Yehovah's; it is holy land. And they were strangers and sojourners with Him. They would dwell in the land in safety, and the land would yield its fruit and they would eat their fill, as long as they observed the statutes of the LORD and kept His judgments and performed them. Our Father, You have blessed Your people with wonderful provisions. You have prospered and protected them. May we always remember that You alone are God. May we walk in Your ways and fear You, lest when we have eaten and are full, we forget that it was Your hand that delivered us from Egypt; lest we turn away from You to other gods. (Deuteronomy 8:11-14) May we remain always faithful to You O LORD, for You are the portion of our inheritance and our cup; You maintain our lot. May we set You always before us; because You are at our right hand we shall not be moved. Therefore our hearts are glad, and our glory rejoices; our flesh also will rest in hope. (Psalm 16:5-9)
