Come To Me
Jesus’ parable about the tares sown among the wheat gives us insight into why there is so much evil in our world. Jesus said that [the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went away. But when the wheat sprouted and bore grain, then the tares became evident also. The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man, and the field is the world. The good seed are the sons of the kingdom; and the tares are the sons of the evil one; the enemy who sowed them is the devil, and the harvest is the end of the age.] So, until the harvest at the end of the age arrives, we can expect evil to be a part of our world. But then, [The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness, and will throw them into the furnace of fire. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father.] Dear Father, please be with Your children when confronted with evil. May we be meek and gentle and peaceable vessels of Your grace in a world fraught with upheavals and turmoil. May we represent our Lord Jesus well, by letting our lights shine in the darkness. May we share Your love – even toward our enemies. Perhaps many will turn from their evil ways and embrace Your righteousness. How I look forward to the day, when the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the Kingdom of our Father. Praised be Your glorious name and praised be our wonderful Savior, sower of the good seed and Lord of our lives.
