The Days of Punishment Have Come
The LORD told His people, “Sow with a view to righteousness, reap in accordance with kindness; break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the Lord until He comes to rain righteousness on you” (Hosea 10:12-14). The parable of the sower (Matthew 13:3-23) concludes that the seed that falls in good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it; who indeed bears fruit and brings forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty”. Seeds that fall in unprepared soil are in peril of many dangers and will likely not survive. Sowing with a view to righteousness indicates that we must first break up our fallow ground to prepare the soil for the success of the seed. Untilled soil may be too hard, too rocky, or overgrown with weeds. Breaking up fallow ground requires hard work but reaps wonderful rewards. Dear Father, help us break up the fallow ground so that seeds planted will not only thrive but bear much fruit. Help us seek You with all our heart and mind and soul. May we hear Your Word and understand it. May You come to rain righteousness on us! And may we forever be called Your people, children of the living God.
